Skill requirements
Weather conditions
At all times, included but not limited to skill, the skater must to comply with agreement waiver and release of liability.
We track weather conditions in real time around the GTA among our network of members. This way we know exactly what is getting wet or not as well as where the rain or snow is moving from and going to.
* On trail events the skater is expected to be able to maintain a specified average speed, to keep up with the group and not be left behind.

* Typically an intermediate skater is expected to maintain a speed above 10 km/h, ranging from 10 km/h to 15 km/h and the advanced skater above 15 km/h.
In case of adverse weather conditions occur, some skaters may skate but not as an event. A notification is sent 1h to 3h prior to the event time to let attendees know if the event is cancelled, postponed and or if we will be going to an indoor location as replacement.
* Speed skaters are expected to maintain and go above 15 km/h. Ideally maintaining an average of 20 km/h.

* Strong wind: Speedy does not organize or hosts events with winds above 35 km.
* If it rains: Speedy does not do events on wet surfaces and the event will change the date. (see frequency of events).
* If it snows: Speedy may organize inline skating events if the skating area is clear of snow and or slush.
* During winter and off inline skating season any ice skating events organized and or hosted by Speedy will be a fluke.
* Events that are prevented to happen outdoors due to weather adversities, may be transferred to an indoor location.

Note: The month of April is notoriously known for rain, therefore schedule changes and or cancellations are expected
